RATTLING THE KEYS Adelaide Repertory Theatre Drama -- Note this is an archived listing for performances in the year 2020 -- First of the Adelaide Repertory Theatre's virtual play series is: Zoe Muller's "Rattling The Keys", directed by Geoff Brittain (Mature audiences recommended) The Adelaide Rep has been producing quality theatre for over 100 years and we are proud to be crowned the oldest surviving theatre company in the Southern hemisphere. We have survived two world wars, the depression and the ‘recession we had to have’, unfortunately, COVID-19 got the better of us and we have had to close the theatre for 2020. The board of the Adelaide Rep has decided to use this time to improve the facilities at the ARTS theatre so the many professional and amateur companies in Adelaide can benefit from these improvements. To make the renovations and improvements possible, the Adelaide Rep is seeking donations. We have decided to follow in the footsteps of professional companies around the world and produce free online plays which can be streamed from the comfort of living rooms around the world. With a team of hard-working volunteers, one production a month will be released on the last Saturday of every month on Youtube. The productions range from much-loved classics, award winning Australian dramas written by local playwrights and vintage radio plays which will take you back in time. There is a play for everyone, with seven shows that range in genre and style, making it easy for everyone to find a play they enjoy: JULY – The Angel Intrudes written by Floyd Dell and directed by Ben Todd. AUGUST – The Shadow Radio Plays written by Walter B. Gibson and directed by Warren McKenzie. SEPTEMBER – The Man Who Dreamed written by Ciaran McConville and directed by Erik Strauts. OCTOBER – A Woman of No Importance written by Oscar Wilde and directed by Angela Short. NOVEMBER – Lysistrata written by Aristophanes and directed by Megan Dansie. DECEMBER – The Rivals written by Richard Brindley Sheridan and directed by Matthew Chapman.
