After working together for the first time in November 2001, Jo Casson and Sharon Angove caught up for a casual chat over coffee and proposed the idea that they might put on a show of their own. As the conversation became more earnest they realised that their common passion for the arts and their love of dance & theatre was a spirited combination.
The upshot is ‘Swamp Fairy’, formed in December 2002. Swamp Fairy is energetic, passionate, exciting and enchanting.
Key objectives of the collaboration include providing quality entertainment to a wide variety of audiences as well as opportunities for artists to perform and develop stage craft.
Fostering an appreciation of the Performing Arts in South Australia and providing employment for young & established professionals have also become important Swamp Fairy goals. This enegetic duo aims to make the performing arts more accessible to the wider community and provide students with the opportunity to perform alongside some of Australia’s finest performing artists.
